My Dell Computer Freezes When It Is Starting...

I've had some problems over the past couple of years and it has only gotten worse. The specifications are:

Vostro 260

A02
Build date 7/27/2011
Processor Type Intel R Core (TM) i3-2120 CPU @ 3.30GHZ

Windows 7

I want to purchase a Dell CD and boot my computer from the disk but I'm not sure which disk to buy. Is there one specifically for my the model of my computer or does it not matter? Can anyone offer any help or point me in the right direction?

F12 at bootup.

Run Dell Diagnostics.

The first thing to fail is the hard drive so buying a Dell DVD won't help you.

In addition, Microsoft stopped providing security updates for Windows 7 a few years ago. So doing any online banking is not a good idea.

Ran a diagnostics test and received this message:

Error Code: 2000-0142

Validation 55501

Msg: Hard Drive 0-S/N WD-WMAYW0199965. self test unsuccessful. Status=7

The given error code and message can be used by Dell Technical Support to help diagnose the problem.

What would be the best course of action?

I have also faced the same problem dell E5430, so I thought that maybe it is the window problem so I installed window10 but the problem still remains the same.

This is a bit after the fact but @nyc10036 is spot on and that error confirms that your hard drive is failing/has failed. Replace the drive and if possible backup the old drive first.

When you say same problem, are you referring to the error code for the hard drive? If so then the advice is the same, replace the drive.
