M2.2030 installed on motherboard not recognized
Hello, I have a Vostro 3681 that has a sata drive that is very slow. I noticed in the manual that there was a slot on the MB for a SSD M.2 2030 drive. I installed the drive and had intentions of cloning the sata over but the pc does not recognize that the SSD is installed. I installed whatever firmware updates I could find but still nothing. I do not see anything in the BIOS that could help me
Is there anything I can do to get this to work

There are two M.2 slots on the board - one for an NVme drive (2230/2280) and one for an M.2 wireless card. Make sure you used the former - not the latter.

@ejn63 I did use the right one according to the manual, located under the existing harddrive stack

@ejn63 My M.2 2030 had the same connector type as the slot I used so it should be correct

@Paul Callegari Did you allocate the drive using disk management?

@JOcean No I did not, I thought windows would just recognize it. Is there a site that would explain the procedure to do that

@Paul Callegari OK so I tried disk management and I see the ssd. It shows 2Gig but it is a 256 Gig
I tried to allocate it and there were 2 options, MBR and Gpt i think
Neither one worked and I cannot get any further
