I need help knowing what's the problem with my pc after trying a new PSU

Vostro 3910

Vostro 3910

I have a Dell Vostro 3910 desktop (not a full tower). I also have bought an ASUS RTX 3050 6GB.

I needed to upgrade the original PSU, which was almost 180W, so I bought a Lian Li PS850 and an SFX 850W PSU.

I tried installing it using a tutorial on YouTube (link). But after doing that the PC didn't do anything, it didn't even look like it had any power at all.

I put the old PSU back, and when pressing the power button, the CPU fan starts, then the PC shuts down, tries booting again and shuts down, then stays shut down.

I tried removing RAM sticks, I even tried them on another computer, it turns out one of them has gone bad, the other one is working fine (it is in the other PC as well).

I really don't know what might be the problem, can you guys help me out?

unfortunately that youtube video is for Inspiron 3880 which has a white 6 pin Dell proprietary socket on motherboard.  It does not apply to 3910 which has a white 8 pin Dell proprietary socket that has a different pinout from the 6 pin in 3880.  By using a 24 to 6 pin adapter for 3880 incorrectly in 3910, there is a risk of damaging motherboard and ram etc.

if still within warranty ask Dell repair to replace the 3910 motherboard.

@redxps630 I used a 24-pin to 8-pin cable, but still went wrong.

I'll try dell repair to see if they can fix the problem.

Thank you
