HDD activity even though OS is on SSD?
I have a new Vostro 3471 and I have just put in an SSD for the OS. Now the system boots up on the SSD and everything is fine, but I am just curious what the system is doing with the HDD when the OS is now on SSD as the activity light shows there is some activity on the HDD both during boot up and every so often thereafter. I assume Dell is doing housekeeping of some sort. Is the Dell recovery/remediation being maintained on the hard drive? I believe it does not migrate. Any ideas?

It's also the SSD activity light.
A hard drive activity light, sometimes referred to as an HDD LED, a hard drive light, or a hard drive activity indicator, is a small LED light that illuminates whenever the hard drive or other built-in storage is being read from or written to.

Not answered, I am asking what the hard drive is doing, what is the nature of the activity, not asking what the light means!

Or microsoft spyware is reading your drive to update strangers while you are online.
Active tiles also read and write as does cortana and inking and typing.
Cortana also listens to the room and sends everything you say back to microsoft to enhance your experience.
This is why I never do live tiles or suggestions or notifications or or or or or.
I have a local account and I don't use ANY of the spyware Apps.
I don't allow ANY location services or other things to run in the background.
This is NOT Dell its microsoft.
