GTX 1060 6gb graphics card
I recently bought a GTX 1060 and this is my first time with the PC. I have never had a PC or upgraded a PC so I have no clue what I'm doing. I followed all the steps but there's no power supply to plug it into. please help as my mom thinks I should just return this $150 graphics card which I don't plan on doing.

if you have a vostro desktop pc it most likely comes from Dell with the most basic power supply unit aka psu, which does not have the required 6 pin connector for gpu such as the GTX 1060. tell the community what your pc model is and perhaps someone can help you find a psu upgrade option and help decide if the 1060 is a keeper.

@redxps630 Hey! Thank you for answering I didn't think anyone would. I found an adapter and now I just need to download the drivers and my PC is not recognizing that it's not there. I've done all the steps, I've removed the current integrated GPU but it just reinstalls it. I am at a loss now. I'm also probably going to put this on reddit for help there too. Thank you!

Return the card and get an Nvidia Quadro P2000. You don't need any additional power hook ups.
I rebuilt this quadro P2000 specifically for gaming. Better than the RX580, or 1660 in regards to "efficiency". Caveat is you will need a monitor. Gaming graphics cards can operate on standard LED TV's. Quadro's however usually only work with PC monitors.
