Fort Knox for Dell Drivers

I just got a notification from dell that the drivers on my Vostro needed updating. I have updated them from the dell.com website many times before. This time was different. I had to sign in using two factor identification using an email account I don't have immediate access to. So I was locked out. When finally arranged to get in I had to type in letter codes several times. What gives with the fort knox level of security? I just want to update my system. It shouldn't take me an hour to do it.
