Error 0141 NO HARD DRIVE DETECTED
Hello,
My desktop computer Vostro 230 can no longer detect my hard drive and displays the message "No boot devise available Strike F1 to retry boot or F5 to run onbord diagnostics." When I run the diagnostics it displays an error code 2000-0141.
In the bios SETUP window, all SATA pors other than CD-DVD are not detected.
I checked sata and power connectors with CD-DVD and they all work fine.
I have also bought a new hard drive but still the same problem.
Help please!

If the ports are not detected in the BIOS then you will undoubtedly receive the 0141 error as no hard drive could possibly be detected. Since it occurs in the BIOS you can rule out a driver problem. Having checked and confirmed the cables are good then that leaves a problem on the MB, not highly likely but then again the system is around 11 years old, or possibly a BIOS error. Have you tried pulling the CMOS battery and leave it out for 15 minutes or so, then reinstall the battery? And as far as that goes, possibly change the CMOS battery while you are at it since the system has probably never had a battery replacement. This site may help.
