Dell Vostro 460 won't boot

I was taking the front cover off my Vosrto 460 to add a DVD drive and forgot to shut it down first. I must have bumped something as the screen went to displaying nothing but digital noise "snow". I shut it down, and now I only get for beeps and the power button flashes orange. I tried taking the memory sticks out and cleaning them, as well as pulling the CMOS battery, but still won't boot. Is there something else to try, or did I fry something in my Motherboard?

That's what I was afraid of. I am usually very careful and always unplug the computer, then press the Power button to discharge any juice left in the chassis before I touch anything metal, but got lazy :-(.

Is it something as easy as replacing the RAM, or is it toast? I don't know a way troubleshoot the memory sticks themselves.

*Update* -  When I got to work, I turned it on again, thinking a good night sleep might have had a restorative effect on my poor computer. Sadly, same 4 sad beeps and no boot. I decided to take the memory sticks out and clean the contacts ONE MORE TIME...low and behold, it WORKED! Three Times was a charm in my case.
