Dell Vostro 360 Display Problem
Hi, one day I upgraded my Dell Vostro 360 to Windows 10 and I was having no problems for more than a month but one day on 10th March around 12 'o' clock I switched it on and it was working fine but after 1 to 1½ hours when I switched it on again it suddenly started to show thin rainbow vertical stripes right from the dell logo screen from down the bottom and a black coloured stain also appeared on it on the left hand side. When I restarted it the screen started flashing white in each 1-2 seconds. Does anyone know how to fix it? I can't try anything because of the constant white flashing. Please help....

Possible monitor is going bad. Try a different monitor. Alternatively connect another working computer to the same monitor.

It has an inbuilt CPU like laptop and so separate monitor cannot be used with this..

I just turned it on and booted it into safe mode and disabled the display adapter but then also nothing is positive!!! But I also saw that the driver in the display adapter section has an exclamation mark..! Should i uninstall the display driver.

yes, exclamation mark is problem w driver. uninstall and try reinstall it. does it say Intel or NVIDIA video driver for your V360 AIO? https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/product/vostro-360/drivers

But if I just disable the video driver it will stop functioning so is it not equal to uninstalling the driver ? And i had installed Intel HD graphics driver for windows 8 when this was windows 8 and i am using this driver on windows 10 but another problem is that Dell has no Windows 10 graphics driver for this desktop on their driver download center page..!

Disable or uninstall video driver both force Windows to use basic VGA driver. Windows 7/8 driver are usually forward compatible w Win10, so feel comfortable downloading it. I use Dell Windows vista driver in Win 10 for old model and the driver still works well.

Previously when the desktop was running windows 8 in Feb a problem occured which caused a cycle of colours flasing fully blue then green then red on the screen which was solved as the issue was with the display driver that time which was a windows 7 display driver and that time only I installed the Windows 8 display driver from Dell's website. That time when I booted it into safe mode I was able to do the whole reinstallation process easily but this time in safe mode also the display problem doesn't stop and the screen keeps flashing and flashing....

If system has been repeatedly patched, I suggest a more drastic repair if possible. If you do not have files you need on hdd, do a clean install of Windows 10. You will lose all the files on it but then you will start w a clean slate.

I'm actually surprised you didn't see this behavior immediately after you installed Windows 10, but now thinking back maybe it did work for a while in my case before some update was applied, which made it not work. The situation is that the computer technically does not support Windows 10. So there are things that won't work. But this one can be fixed, by backtracking through history to get a driver that works with the display and works with Windows 10, and setting certain parameters. I was able to make one of my Vostro 360 AIO computers work with Windows 10 several years ago and it's been running ever since. But before the fix, I was having exactly the situation you are describing. It was tough to get sorted out, but it did get sorted.
I am not able to search for a link presently that will bring you the solution. But there is some information in the comment from JacquesAssert here (https://www.dell.com/community/Windows-10/Vostro-360-upgrade-to-Windows-10-video-corruption-with-latest/td-p/5049255) and here is the thread from my original quandary which has one response with a link to some driver details (https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/2001934-dell-vostro-360-aio-stuck-in-burn-in-video-self-test-mode).
Bottom line: It IS possible to fix this problem, but you need to understand that the reason it's not easy is that the software and hardware are technically not completely compatible. You're employing a workaround here. If that's not comfortable for you, then you may need to retire the computer (or run some other OS on it, Linux perhaps). Also: once you get the video display working, you still may not get the built-in camera working. I have yet to solve that problem, which I only started working on today (thus the search leading me here). All the best!
