CPU Frequency Stuck at 3.6 GHz Causing Performance Issues on Dell Vostro 3888
Dear Dell Support Team,
I am experiencing performance issues on my Dell Vostro 3888. My system has an Intel Core i3-10100F processor with a maximum turbo frequency of 4.3 GHz and an Intel B460 chipset motherboard that supports Turbo Boost. However, the CPU frequency is stuck at 3.6 GHz and does not increase under load.
This limitation is causing a bottleneck for my RX 590 GPU, resulting in FPS drops and game stuttering across multiple applications, games.
I have verified that Turbo Boost is enabled in BIOS, but the processor remains locked at its base clock. It appears that Dell’s OEM BIOS is extremely restrictive, locking any power modification options. Given this, I question the role of the Intel B460 chipset if these power features are completely locked down by the OEM.
I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue or guidance on whether a BIOS update or other solution is available to allow the CPU to reach its full turbo speeds.
Thank you for your support.
Best regards,
