Bootable USB Flashdrive using Dell Diagnostic Deployment Package? (Locked Topic)
The Dell way is to download it from this website:
https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000145519/how-to-create-a-bootable-usb-flash-drive-using-dell-diagnostic-deployment-package-dddp
Most Important if using Windows 7 or later:
The download file is Windows VISTA compatible according to Windows Combability troubleshooter.
1. From Windows you need to right-click the downloaded CW1322A1.exe file and select "troubleshoot compatibility" to create the instillation folders.
2. Follow the Dell instructions up to "4. Insert a USB Flash Drive"
3. Follow Dell instruction "5. Navigate to C:\ Dell\Drivers\R174621\". Right-click DDDP.EXE and select "troubleshoot compatibility"
4. Follow Dell instruction "6. Run the DDDP utility..." onwards to create the necessary files on your USB Flash Drive.
5. Exit and copy your BIOS update file to the root of your USB Flash Drive.
6. Reboot PC and enter BIOS settings. Change Boot mode to Legacy. Save and reboot PC. Hit F12, select your USB Flash Drive. Run the BIOS update file.
7. Exit. Reboot PC and enter BIOS settings. Change Boot mode to UEFI. Save and reboot PC.
