Adding a 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD to Dell Vostro 5880

Hi,

    I am planning to buy Dell Vostro 5880 with 256GB NVMe SSD for boot drive. I wanted to add a 1TB NVMe SSD for storing data. The motherboard does have another M.2 card slot, but it won't be able to accommodate 2880 sized card, I am was thinking of adding a PCIe x4 card that holds an M.2 NVMe SSD. My question was regarding any limit on the size of the card. The service manual here mentions a limit of 512 GB for SSD. Would this limit apply to the M.2 card on the PCIe card too ?
