VNXe3200 - The DPE has faulted
Good afternoon,
I have a VNXe3200 on version 3.1.8.9809862.
I’m seeing the message: "The DPE has faulted." The Disk Processor Enclosure (DPE) has faulted. This may have occurred because of a faulted subcomponent. Identify and fix the issue with the subcomponent. If the problem persists, contact your service provider.
All disks and resources are correct and without errors Just this orange DPE message.
My issue is very similar to the one discussed in the forum below: https://www.dell.com/community/en/conversations/vnx/vnxe3200-the-dpe-has-faulted-because-of-sp-fault/64c10602f4ccf8a8ded00d60
I would like to know the exact solution used, as I don’t think replacing the 2032 battery is the answer. Was it the replacement of the SPA and SPB batteries?
Thank you.

Hi,
Thanks for your question.
It could be batteries, but it is generic enough of an hour it is hard to be sure. https://dell.to/40Oq07w and https://dell.to/3UQpxxO

@DELL-Josh Cr Thank you for your response. In this case, should I replace both batteries just like in the video below?

Can I continue using the equipment while waiting for the replacement battery to arrive?

yes, but if the batteries are not working if you have a power outage there is a risk of data loss.

@DELL-Josh Cr Can I replace the SPA battery first with the equipment powered on, and then replace the SPB?

All set. I put the SPB into service mode, removed it, and performed an inspection and cleaning of everything. Then, I returned the SPB to its place and rebooted it. Everything is working fine. It was not necessary to replace the battery.
Thank you.
