VNXE1600 ESXI 7

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows the reason why ESXi 7 is unsupported for the VNXe1600? Is it technical? It seems an oversight especially with the VNXe3200 being supported and with the new OS level released at the end of last year.

Hopefully someone can shed some light on this for me.

Cheers.

Hello Tony Weston,

ESXi7 is not supported on the VNX3200 or VNXe1600.  The latest version that is supported is ESXi 6.5. Now ESXi 7 maybe supported in the future, but currently it is not.  There is not eta that I can find as to when it maybe available for the VNXe  1600.

Hi Sam,

ESXi 7.0U1 is listed as compatible with the VNXe3200 on the VMware Compatibility site.

VMware Compatibility Guide - Storage/SAN Search

Up until now both the VNXe1600 and VNXe3200 shared the same ESXi compatibility which was the reason for my question. It seems odd that one member of the current family is supported.

Regards, Tony.

Hello Tony Weston,

I am not sure why that is link that.  I will check to see if I can get some information on why that is, & I will reply back once I get an answer.
