VNX5400 setcache is not supported
Hi guys,
I have the following issue.
/opt/Navisphere/bin/naviseccli -h ecpb1 setcache
Error: setcache command failed
Command not Supported
setcache is not supported on this subsystem type, please use "cache" command instead
# /opt/Navisphere/bin/naviseccli -h ecpb1 getagent | egrep -e "(Agent|Revision|Model|Prom|Memory)"
Agent Rev: 7.33.8 (1.19)
Revision: 05.33.008.5.119
Model: VNX5400
Model Type: Rackmount
Prom Rev: 33.40.00
SP Memory: 16384
I'm wondering this feature is removed for VNX2 storages or some hardware failure cause this error?

Hello.
setcache isn't available on Multi-Core Cache (MCx / VNX2 systems). You can see the list of available naviseccli commands in the CLI guide for R33:
https://support.emc.com/docu47580_VNX-Command-Line-Interface-Reference-for-Block-5.33.pdf?language=en_US
only 'cache' is available, page 49.
Let me know if you need a particular operation done on cache.
If you are not familiar with the changes to cache from VNX R32 to R33/MCx, I'd recommend also checking out this White Paper:
https://support.emc.com/docu48786_White_Paper:_VNX2_MCx_-_Multicore_Everything.pdf?language=en_US
