VNX5200/5500 usermapper migration / VNX decommissioning
Hi all,
The current situation:
2x VNX5500, of which one primary usermapper (VNX1) and the other secondary (VNX2). Also two new VNX5200's (VNX3, VNX4) within the same (management) subnet.
VNX1 reports itself as primary usermapper:
$ server_usermapper server_2
server_2 : Usrmapper service: Enabled
Service Class: Primary
VNX2 is secondary usermapper::
$ server_usermapper server_2
server_2 : Usrmapper service: Enabled
Service Class: Secondary
Primary = 10.0.6.5 (c)
VNX3 and VNX4 are also secondary:
$ server_usermapper server_2
server_2 : Usrmapper service: Enabled
Service Class: Secondary
Primary = 10.0.6.5
But why has VNX2 the "(c)" added to the IP, while the VNX3+4 don't?
VNX2 had a VDM with CIFS shares running on it which are migrated to VNX3.
Reason I ask is because I need to shutdown/decommission VNX2 and want to make sure that I don't break anything when I do so.
Hope someone can shed some light on this, because I was unable to find anything about this in the documentation.
Regards,
Onno.
