VNX SNMP v3 polling
Hi folks,
one of our customers wants to enable SNMP v3 for polling VNX.
When configuring SNMP on SPs, you can only specify community:
After enabling SNMP, I can query SP using SNMP v2 but not using v3. There is any way to enable v3?
This configuration enable SNMP for SPs, but I can't find how to enable SNMP in Control Stations.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!
Jorge.

Hello,
Regarding SNMP.
SP’s are only supporting snmp V2 no V3
For the file side there is a white paper describing the use of snmp V3. Search for docu48479_Using-SNMPv3-on-VNX-8.1.pdf on support.emc.com.

snmpd on the control station is not enabled
It is not needed by the supported VNX feature set.
The supported SNMP alerting (traps) and the SNMP get from DM/SP dont use it.
you could enable it at your own - but it is just the standard Linux SNMP so it wouldnt get you anything VNX specific - just Linux info for the control station.
