VNX Serial Connection?
VNX professionals, I am trying to connect to the serial port on my VNX5200 and am having no luck. I am using PuTTy, a USB to Serial adapter and the VNX serial cable connected to the serial port. The settings I am trying are 115200, 8, N, 1, and have tried all flow control options with no luck. Am I overlooking something silly or is there some strange gotcha that I have missed? Thanks in advance for any assistance you have to offer.

It turns out I wasn't doing anything wrong. There just isn't any communication on the SP serial ports if the SP is fully booted and operational. I was able to capture data during an SP reboot.

I realize this is an older post, but I was wondering if there is a way to connect to the VNX5300 other than the serial connection?

I am also having issues getting a successful serial connection. I do not even see any output during the boot process. Is it necessary to have the standby power supply for any communication with the sp?
