VNX Replicator, pause DM Interconnect before switching WAN link
We have a VNX replicating 4 NFS file systems containing VM's using VNX replicator. We are switching to a new WAN link to increase bandwidth to support replication activities.. (Current file systems can be as much as 12 hours out of sync..)
Rather than rip the rug out from underneath the replication sessions, I plan to pause replication during the cutover by pausing the DM interconnect, then cutting over the circuit, validate connectivity, then unpause the DM interconnect to resume
Would this be an appropriate process for such an activity?
Thanks, Jim

Sure – just make sure you have enough savvol space so that the internal checkpoints needed for restart can live on during the outage
If you want to be double sure you can also create two user checkpoints and sync them
This way even if you were to delete the replication session it would still do an incremental update when you re-create it
