VNX proactive disk replacement

Hi guys,

One of our customers wants to relocate one of his units. And he asked us if it's possible to check drives status to be sure that after powering on unit in new location, all drives will work. So my question is, where in spcollects can I find disk reliability info? And when I (hopefully) find that info, how can I determine which drive should be proactively replaced (if any)? Is there any threshold for media errors?

Kind regards

It seems that it is possible to perform that kind of audit. But to do this you need to use TRiiAGE software which is available for EMC, and partners only.

Kind regards

The best you can do is a health check before powering down the system. If it is an older system get a couple of each drive type on site for the power on. Actually whatever the age it wont hurt to have a few spares on hand. If parts delivery can be patchy get an LCC, fan and PS on site as well. At least you'll be prepared then.

Use (navisecli) command "getdisk -state"
