VNX OE versions question

Greetings,

I am getting ready to upgrade our VNX5600 OE due to a couple of advisories that came out and have questions on the versions.  We normally work with EMC's RCM process, but due to timing we are looking at doing this ourselves.  We are currently on File OE: 8.1.9-211/Block OE 05.33.009.5.186.  The current OE Revision Matrix (Article Number 328638) shows the target code of 8.1.9.211/05.33.009.5.186 and the recommended is 8.1.9.217/05.33.009.218 and to further confuse the matter, the USM only show the latest software for the upgrade: 8.1.8.231/05.33.009.231.

So the question is do I continue to go down the version that is listed in the USM or do I install recommend version?  And if I do install another version outside of the USM listed version, I would assume that I would match the Block and File OE listed in the article?  And I assume that there is an option in USM to manually browse to the version that I would need?

This is my first round with USM, any feedback would be appreciated.
