VNX file and block code compatibility matrix
Does anyone have the VNX File and Block code compatibility matrix ? We are running a File code version T8.1.6.101 and block code 05.33.006.5.102 and the NAS had an outage mentioned in ETA 477140. So we want the block code to be upgraded to 05.33.009.5.155 without doing any upgrade on File version. Looks like the block upgrade is not possible without upgrading the file version. Looking for this compatibility matrix. Anyone ?

KB 382638 might be right candidate for this info, I will get that fixed. But, If you search for the image on support.emc.com, it tells the corresponding File version.

VNX Block OE 05.33.009.5.155. This PBU file is used to upgrade the VNX2 Block OE. Use the VNX Software Update Tool within USM. If you are upgrading a File or Unified system, ensure that the VNX File OE is upgraded to version 8.1.9.155. (CR52495
So you are right and you have to do the file upgrade to 8.1.155 first, followed by the Block OE.
