VNX 5200 Initial installation
Dear Sirs,
Recently I bought an EMC VNX 5200. The device has 16 x 1.2Gb of drives and 4 port FC module. I used windows 8.1 to run the VIA to configure the device but with no luck! the VIA could not find the device. the step i followed:
1- Powered up the VNX
2- Waited for full power on (30 min) green LEDs
3- Connecting the management ports to a layer 2 switch (un-managed switch)
4- The PC get an IP address from DHCP Server
I ran the VIA tools for several time but it was unable to connect to the storage.
Finally I ran the software "Unisphere Storage System Initialization" and it did find and configured the SPs and the device is now configured.
I connected to the storage and licensed the storage but the there is no account for Root, nasadmin and sysadmin and there is no option for the user account I created at the initialization screen for shutting down or reboot the SAN?
What should be done in order to have full privilege of VNX?
Thanks in advance

Is your array a Block only or do you also have a File configured?
To reboot an SP in Unisphere, go to System/Hardware/Storage Hardware. Once there open the SPs and right click on one of the SPs - in the screen cap below I've right clicked on SPA.

You'll only get root/nasadmin and sysadmin accounts if your array is the unified (file and block) model.
When you created the system account you're using (presumably when you were running the UIW) did you assign it administrator or security administrator role?
Have a read through the Security COnfiguration Guide. https://support.emc.com/docu48491_Security-Configuration-Guide-for-VNX-(VNX1-VNX2).pdf?language=en_US

Well thanks Brett for the information, the issue is that the default admin account which I created does not provide me any option for rebooting the SPs and there is no option for enabling the CLI and advance settings.
I searched Unisphere SPs tabs and also connected from the USM but no option for this matter or advanced configuration presented to me.
Still could not find a proper document to read and study the basics of a Block VNX? EMC documents are very fargmented and there is no good tutorial book available as I searched the net.
Yes, The admin account permission is set to the Administrator role.

Thanks Glen!
Seems that EMC Unisphere interface is not very user friendly

Actually, the easiest way to determine how to perform different operations on the array would be to use the Help built-in to Unisphere. Clicking on the Help icon, selecting "Search" and typing in "reboot" provides the answer to your question:
Unisphere can sometimes be frustrating (User Friendly), but when I can't find what I'm looking for by clicking around, I generally use the Help to see if the answer is there and most times it is. Help is very useful and it's a lot better than before. Certainly not as user friendly as a smart phone
or Window 2012.
