"Verbose" Events on One SP - VNX 5400

VNX 5400

In EMC Unisphere --> System --> Monitoring and Alerts --> SP Event Logs

SPA shows a 'normal' amount of event entries. May 6-8 information entries a day.

SPB shows a huge number of information entries. I'm talking 4-5 a minute. Nearly all are along these lines:

Internal information only. Operation Evacuate Slices completed on 20000000d.    00 00 04 00 07 00 2c 00 d3 04 00 00 04 00 2d 61 04 00 2d 61 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 71 2d 00 04

Seems I have a verbose mode on the event log for SPB enabled somehwere, but I am unable to find it.

I would appreciate some guidance to limit these entries.

Thanks!

What version of Flare is running on your array?

Also, these informational events - not sure that these can be filtered out. In some cases, a newer flare version has addressed this type of issue (high frequency of logging informational events).

First time I've heard the term Flare, but I guess based on searching that term you want the version of the OE?

05.33.008.5.119

If that's not it, I'm not sure where that information is in Unisphere.

That's the Operating Environment version (called FLARE - same thing).

Your version 05.33.008.5.119 is a bit old, it was released in Oct. 2015. The latest is now 05.33.009.5.186. I've checked the release notes but did not find any mention of removing that informational message, but that's not to say that it wasn't.

Based on the age of your OE, I would recommend that you schedule an upgrade just to ensure that you have the latest version running. It might change the behavior of that message, but I can't be sure in your case.
