Vault drive replacement

Hi all:

We want to know how performance an activity corectly regarding Vault drive replacament. Our array currently not available EMC support. Model it's VNX 5500 (too old I thing it was VNX1)

Specifically we would do the following:

* Replace fault drive

* Check customer private LUNs in that drive (two LUNS called LUN_WIL_XXX)

* Copy Manually LUN data. (naviseccli copytodisk) Optional?

In our case it exist two small private luns at RG0. It seems that these need a manually copy according KB. Is that so? If these steps are correctly or we must take in account other related topic.

Thanks and regards.

Hello InfraMED,

If you are just replacing a single drive, you can just replace the drive and the copy back procedure should copy all data to the drive.  In rare cases when the copyback doesn’t start on it’s own then you will have to start it via CLI.
