Usermapper Primary & DR chaos.

# Brief Summary

Customer have VNX 7600 ( each with 8 DM ) at both Primary & DR site. All Prod data rw on Primary and DR site has only ro replicated data.

Presently the Primary site has usermapper service as primary on DM2 ( Slot_2 ) except for DM8. DM8 has been configured as secondary usermapper service pointing to the DR slot_2.

As you know as per the best practice recommendation

• DR site

we should make DR site slot_2 to run primary usermapper service

make all the DM’s on the DR site as client to the slot_2 ( DR )

• Primary Site

We should make slot_2 run secondary usermapper service pointing to the DR site slot_2

make all the DM’s on Primary site as client to the slot_2 ( primary )

while I can do this by exporting primary usermapper DB and importing it to the DR site ( slot_2 ).

But only challenge I see DR site already running as primary service and primary site DM8 is configured as secondary to this as show in the below fig.

How should I keep DM8 usermapper info intact. I read in a mail thread import of usermapper db actually updates existing db, it doesn’t overwrite it.

But say user1 entry exist in both primary and dr site, then when we import primary site db on dr site it will just skip the existing entry i.e user1 will retain its value ( DR site )  doesn’t overwrite from the primary value.

Can you please advise what I can do in this scenario.
