Thin pool 0 is 75% full

Hi everyone,

I have a EMC system with the below description, I running out of Pool space.

System properties:

VNX 5200 DPE9 of 25disk slots

  • 13x1TB NL SAS disks
  • 9x600GB SAS disks
  • 3x200GB SAS Flash disks

DAE(1) of 25disk slots

  • 12x1TB NL SAS disks
  • 8x600GB SAS disks
  • 2x200GB SAS Flash disks

DAE(2) of 25 disk slots

  • 8x600GB SAS disks

Storage Properties:

  • Number of Pool = 1
  • Raid type  = 1/0
  • disk type = mixed(NL SAS, SAS)
  • Raw = 32748
  • User = 16361
  • Consumed = 12212
  • Free = 4149

I need to expand this thin pool capacity without disruption, how may I achieve this? is it possible to add capacity from raw disk capacity? or should I add additional disks to the enclosure(DAE2)?

Thanks.

How many disks are currently unused? You can add more disks to the Pool if you have the same type (Flash, SAS or NL-SAS) and the same capacity and the same number of disks that matches the Raid Type/Stripe Width.  If you add more disks to the Pool you will also need to consider if you will need more Hot Spares.

Check our the Help for Expanding a Pool for more information.
