Stop Sharing NAS Shares

We have an EMC NAS with a bunch of stale shares that have not been accessed in a long time. I would like to stop sharing these shares so they are no longer visible to the user community, then eventually delete them al together.

How do I stop sharing these shares? Currently I have a MMC that I use to create and manage shares, can I do it thru this?

I would like to avoid deleting them as there may be some hooks in a spreadsheet or something similar. If so, I can just re-share them quickly to avoid end user issues. Plus I have 70 shares that are currently stale, so documenting all of them would be a task...

Thanks for the reply

document share names, path  and permissions and delete them.  You can always re-create them if needed to be.

login to the control station via ssh and do a "man server_export"

there is no "stopping" or "pausing" of a share

just document and delete

you could try to rename them with a $ sign at the end so that they arent visible when browsing.

but technically that would be a new share name and existing links would need to be updated on the clients to use them
