Snapshot Capacity with Dedup
Hello,
we have a customer with a VNX5400. They have some LUNs in the Block Pool created with Deduplication enabled. These LUNs are also being Snapshotted using AppSync. I notice that in the Pool properties, the value for Snapshot Capacity used is "N/A".
Is this because we are using Dedup? Is there any way to see how much capacity the Snapshots are using? Customer would like to increase the number of copies being retained, and would like to know how much the Snaps are currently using before changing it.
Pool usage is OK at the moment. Plenty of free capacity.
Thanks and regards,
Stephen

Please see the attached White Paper for Deduplication - this was re-written for the current Flare release - 33.155. Page 18 has information about the space used by deduplication and Snaps. There is no specific information about individual Snap capacity. All is kept in the deduplication container (this of the container as one big LUN).

Just add the 6th host to the Cluster and you are done.
