SMI-S integrate VNX5300 fail "No devices were found"
Hi,
I was trying to integrate SMI-S with VNX5300 using TestSmiProvider command, it failed with error,
++++ EMCAddSystem ++++
Error: The requested object cannot be found. (com.emc.cmp.osls.se.osl.DiscoveryServices.StorInstanceDiscover():142 C:ERROR_CLASS_SOFTWARE F:ERROR_FAMILY_NOT_FOUND R:1000052 L:2 C:ERROR_CLASS_SOFTWARE F:ERROR_FAMILY_NOT_FOUND R:1000052 No objects of the requested type were found : "SymDiscover Failed" : 2 : 40 : "No devices were found")
and I can see below message in symapi.log,
03/20/2018 23:57:55.950 31323 9 EMC:SMI Provider SymDiscover() Function start
03/20/2018 23:57:56.136 31323 9 EMC:SMI Provider emcClarLoad Management communications with Clar: FCN** not available

03/20/2018 23:57:56.137 31323 9 EMC:SMI Provider SymDiscover() Function complete.
Someone saying similar issue could be caused by VNX port 443/2163 disabled.
I did tcpdump and could see SMI-S host was accessing VNX port 443, the communication was fine, tcp connection was established, some packets were exchanged, later connection was closed. There was no attempt to access VNX port 2163.
SMI-S Version:
SMI-S Provider 4.6.2.9 for SMI-S 1.5
Based on Solution Enabler 7.6.2.26
Thanks,
Alec
