Secure Erasure of VNXe3200

I'm looking to securely erase an VNXe3200 but I cannot find any guidance on how to wipe the drives besides pulling them and wiping them individually. We're required to document that we've done so but unfortunately the support agreements have lapsed and Dell is requiring an active agreement to give me any further info. Anyone have any insight?

I've tried via uemcli but cannot find anything applicable and using naviseccli as suggested a few other places throws an infamous Certificate error that I cannot circumvent (I believe this is due the the vnxe3200's being somewhat of an oddball in the lineup).

Worst case we bit the bullet and open a billable case but I figured I would try here first as we have a few of these we are decommissioning.

Hello OG Sysadmin,

There is a Data Erasure Appliance tool that support uses to wipe the system and make it so that it is not bootable.  This tool is used on systems that are in warranty or customers that are wanting to purchase the service.  There is not a white paper or guide that will walk you through this process.

Now if you don’t want to have Dell wipe the system, then what you are going to want to do is to make sure that all drives have been wiped on the system.  The operating system and boot luns are on the first 4 drives of the DPE under the yellow label & are the drives that you will want to make sure have been wiped really well.

Awesome, appreciate the note on that as it's great information to have. I sort of figured as much about the tool as everything I read so far pointed to that as the only real option from a certification route.
