Sancopy question
hi experts ...
This may be very basic ,,, but I am bit confused so please help me clear my head ...
in 466607 : San coppy session paused https://support.emc.com/kb/466607
This KB has saying below ...
When a SAN Copy session is created, it is owned by the SP that currently owns the LUN on that system. If that LUN is trespassed to the other SP, the SAN Copy session
will pause if it is currently running.
This means Source/ Target need to be in same SP ? which is session owner SP ...
Why I am asking is that SAN copy can be used for other storage thus Target LUN should not be worry about which SP own the session at the time ...
thanks !
aya

they don't have to be on the same SP, as long as source is zoned and can talk to target SP you should be fine. I think it just means that if it trespasses in the middle of the session you have to restart but that does not mean you have to trespass all source <> target LUNs before you start SANCopy migrations.
