RHEL 6.x - Write barrier on or off?

Hi,

What is the best practice for journaled filesystems on RHEL - should the write barrier be turned off?

situation: RHEL 6 has a VNX or VMAX LUN attached via FC SAN, filesystem is xfs or anything journaled really.

I could not find any best practices regarding EMC storage, only IBM redbooks recommended turning this off for optimal SAN performance.
