how to move Production interface from Current FSN to New FSN on Same DM ?
Hi ,
We are planning to install & configure NEW 10Gig base T module on each datamover.
The production is running on 1 GB Base T IO MODULE. we would like to move Production interfaces to the new 10GIG IO Module FSN/Virtual device.
can i just delete the interface and recreate it using NEW FSN ? if i delete the interface , what will happen to the CIFS Server ?
Thanks
Srini.

Thanks For your Help!!
But , When we create a CIFS Server all you need is interface IP. There isn't a place where i can specify FSN .
But , when we create the interface on the PDM , you need to select FSN. Since i have only one FSN currently on the DM, there is no drop down to change/modify the FSN to New FSN. Probably once the new IO module addition is complete , i may select the New FSN . Not sure . If that's not the case i need to delete & recreate the interface on Unisphere with NEW FSN.
But if the Interface / IP Address doesn't exist on the physical Datmover. The CIFS server that's currently using the interface/IP , not sure what will happen.
Thanks
Srini.

you will first need to remove FSN device from any CIFS server that is currently using and then select the new FSN.

Srini,
You will not be able to delete the interface if it is used by CIFS or Replications. (NFS is fine but will make no access until new interface is created)
Since you are adding a new 10g module, create a new interface on that and you can move the CIFS Servers to the new interface (Unisphere - It is a check box for cifs server) to release the old interface. For replication, you can use nas_cel -interconnect command to modify the interface (or IP).
Once you freed up the 1g interfaces, you can delete them (followed). This will also helps to do a smooth transition without the need to delete cifs servers/replication interconnects.
