How to check security type of fs mount on VNX
Hello VNX File Experts,
On p15 of EMC doc 80699, "VNX Series Data Import to Dell EMC Unity All Flash or Hybrid, or UnityVSA System User Guide", it says following:
"NT security is enabled on the source. Share and Unix security level is not supported. This is in mount options of the file systems. If necessary, change the mount option of the file systems."
This is in the context of preparing the legacy VNX VDMs for Unity NAS File Import.
Running "server_mount server_2" on my VNX systems shows few mounts that have any accesspolicy defined. The few that do, show accesspolicy=NATIVE. None of the mounts has accesspolicy=NT
"Share" security level does not appear to be an option in server_mount output.
Can anyone help with these questions?
- How to show the type of security on VNX mounts - is it with server_mount command?
- Is accesspolicy=NATIVE acceptable for Unity NAS File Import?
Thanks,
Dave Rowley

share level is very very old and wouldnt show up there
IF you are using with user accounts and ACLs then you arent using share level
NATIVE is fine for IMT
However on VNX - unlike Unity - there isnt a single "multi-protocol" type of the file system or VDM
indication that you are doing multi-protocol is when you have both CIFS shares and NFS exports defined
