How to add additional DAE

It would be helpful is you provided the array type that you want to expand.

Also, you can go to the support.emc.com site, click on Support By Product, pick your array model and look at the documentation section - there is usually something about adding or expanding an array.

You could also go to mydocs.emc.com and generate your own documents. All the things you want to do are covered there.

You will need Unisphere Service Manager software to add the new DAE.

Once the DAE is added and all the disks are recognised in Unisphere you can either create a new pool or add the unused disks to an existing pool. Then you can create new LUNs or expand existing LUNs. (If you have a Unified VNX, don't expand any LUNs that are being used by VNX for File)

Thanks for your answer ! I have VNX2 5200 storage and it has one DAE it's working well with single pool and currently we bought another one DAE and I would like to add the new DAE and expand the existing pool size from 16 TB to 25 TB  .. and I would like to expand the existing LUN capacity ..

Note: If i Expand the current storage Pool is there any down time or performance issues ?
