Help changing IP addresses on VNX5300 SPs
Hi All,
We are migrating our management IPs to a new range. I tried doing this on a 1 of our VNX5300s, but got greyed out boxes. This was on the https://IP_Address/setup page as well as Unisphere (although I read you shouldn't do it through Unisphere).
I have used an admin account and that made no difference. The VNX5300 has a filer (unused - the company was sold the bells-and-whistles without realising they'd never use it) and block. I am not bothered about the IP address on the filer, it's the IP addresses for block I need changed and can't, or don't have that option.
Any assistance will be appreciated.
Thanks!
Craig

Hi Craig,
The fact you have NAS filers means this is a Unified array, which means you REALLY need to care about the control station(s) (CS)...
With the Unified arrays, the SP network connections are proxied through the CS, additionally, the CS is responsible for all dial home functionality for the SPs. If you configured dial home templates on the SPs, they're not working. If you've re-cabled the SPs so that they're plugged into your management/public facing network, that needs to be fixed.
You're going to need to change the address for both SPs and the CS(s), the procedure for doing that is documented here: https://support.emc.com/kb/426052
If the CS(s) have an uptime of more than 120 days, I'd recommend rebooting them just to make sure there's nothing "odd" hanging out there before doing the work.
