Gaining access to EMC VNXe3200 after reimage

SPA said it had an error and required me to reboot and reimage it (see image)

This is an old unit we inherited, it's in service mode for some reason.

Whilst logged into unisphere web with the service account I clicked SPA and clicked re-image, then did the same for SPB and then waited for both SPs to come back online.

After rebooting, the chassis fault LED is showing and neither of the SPs are getting an IP via DHCP or sending any ARP packets at all. Even after letting the unit run for over an hour. The old IP before re-imaging is no longer reachable and the unit feels bricked.

I can ping the service ports (not the management ports) but I'm unable to do anything other than that.

Did re-imaging brick both storage processors?

Hello EJ36,

When it comes to VNXe3200 you only need to reimage one SP at a time. The SP that you are reimage needs to look at the alt SP to gather information to complete the reimage. Since you reimaged both SP’s at close to the same time you have bricked the system. What is needed at this point is a complete reimage using the download of the image file. The reimage file is available if the system is still under warranty. Since the warranty has expired I am not able to provide you the download so that you can reimage the system.

Hello tianchou,

Unfortunately I am not able to post the boot process as there is not a public boot process available.
