Error trying to create NAS Server
When I try to add a NAS server in Unisphere, I get the following error:
Execution Errors:
The specified CIFS server could not be joined to domain.
(Error Code:0x6702173)
07-12-2017 09:27:40 Kernel.Warning 131.199.21.40 Jul 12 14:27:40 _spa Kittyhawk_safe[18107]: "2017-07-12T14:27:40.284Z" " _spa" "Kittyhawk_safe" "18107" "unix/spa/root" "WARN" "13:10380008" :: "For the NAS server in the domain , the DC has the following error: compname DC= Step='Logon IPC$' get Kerberos credential failed, gssError=Miscellaneous failure. Local host name could not be determined. . compname DC= Step='Open NETLOGON Secure Channel' 'NETLOGON' 'DC connected:Server not joined'. " :: Category=Audit Component=DART_SMB
Hostnames and domain redacted..
Any ideas? Even when I stage (pre-create) the account in AD, I can't do the join (ruling out OU rights). I've checked DNS - forward and reverse lookups via NSLOOKUP are good - and NTP - UTC time jives..
Thanks in advance -
Chris

Yeah.. The service request was where I was figuring I'd end up.. Just figured I'd pop in here to rule out a quick answer.
Thanks anyway!

I think the local user db is not good for the NAS Server that you are trying to join domain. It needs root access to verify/fix so you need a case opened for this.
To confirm this, if you create a new NAS Server, you may be able to join that to the domain successfully.
