DAE as JBOD
Is it feasible to deploy a DAE as a JBOD direct-attached to a host server? We're running into issues trying to configure the enclosures loaded with EMC-branded drives. Drives from other manufacturers installed in the DAEs can be configured without problems.

I dont think thats supported
EMC drives do have an EMC branded firmware and 520b sector format
you could try a low-level format

Try a search in the forums - I think I remember someone doing this a number of years ago, but EMC does not support this.

This is dure to 520b formated drives from EMC, you need to format them to 512b
