CIFS Mixed Mode

Question

Hi ALL,

We have VNX5400 Unified box . Few doubts regarding the Mixed mode

1) Can CIFS to Mixed mode change can be done online

2) In Mixed mode, how the permission mapping works with windows and unix users for same shared

3) Do we face any management complications as we have thousands for files under these shares

I would suggest to start with reviewing the manuals on support.emc.com that explain the multi-protocol workings and user mapping

I any case I would suggest to test on a simulator or at least a test VDM before doing production changes
