Bus and spb

Vnx5800 - new install. On the back of bus 0/1 there is a number 01. On the back of 1/0 there are flashing dashes - what does that mean or do I need to do something to make it identify itself?

Also, has the issue with not being able ping spb from spa

Tried the reboot and still can't pong spb from unisphere. Any other suggestions? I am very new to the vnx world

Thanks

AG

Hello agcomptech,

You will need to set the enclosure ID for each enclosure that is connected to your SP’s of your VNX5800. Here is a link to the VNX5800 Hardware Information Guide. https://dell.to/3vZEaCW

Here is the link to solve online where you can generate an install guide to ensure that you are doing all the steps in the correct order. https://dell.to/3FAkyIT

I can't access the second link. I get unauthorized.

I still get unauthorized. Can you tell me the number and name of the document? I might have it. I already had the first doc you send.

Thx

Hello agcomptech,

If you have an active emc account you should be able to view https://dell.to/3w7AWgZ.

I do have an active account but this time the message was:

You were right. I don't have an emc account. I am not eligible for one bc my company doesn't have agreement with dell for vnx. We brought second hand.

Can you tell me the publication number of the document you are referencing me to?

thanks

Hello agcomptech,

I was pointing you to solve online so that you could generate the procedure for installing a VNX system.  You can use the VNX5800 Hardware Information Guide that I sent the link to you earlier and find and set the enclosure ID.
