Access Denied on replicated files from offsite. (VNXe3300)
I currently have a VNXe3100 offsite that has replication setup on a CIFS share. The replication appears to be happening correctly, but the issue is that I cannot access the files at the replication destination (VNXe3300.) I have AD setup at the destination site while the replication source is a workgroup. When I try to access the files, I get an access denied. I am unable to take ownership of the files as a Domain Admin so I am at a bit of a loss here. I can see the SIDs of the accounts from the replication source on the folders, I just cant make changes to the ACL. Any Ideas?

I figured out the issue. The CIFS share I was replicating from had strict security in place. No groups were added to the ACL and all of the users were local individuals (i.e Administrator, User1, etc...) When replicating, the destination could not resolve the SIDs in the ACL so I was unable to change any of the permissions or even take ownership as a Domain Admin. I went back to the source share and added the group 'Administrators'(which is a built-in group) to the folders/files in the share and now I can see the Administrators group at the destination. I can also now view/edit all of the files and folders.
Thanks for helping me to narrow down the search.

Hi,
I tested same scenario in my lab:
But here is a minor catch:
VNXe matches internal database number assigned to CIFS server on both source and destination. If number doesn't match, we might come across access denied issue.
These database number assigned to CIFS server can be fetched with the help of support.
I would recommend you to open a case with VNXe support team for investigation.
