4TB VNX drives from 15-bay DAE work in 60-bay DAE?
Is it possible to take 4TB drives from a VNX standard 15-bay DAE and use them in a 60-bay DAE, if you pull the drives out of the standard carrier and put them in the 60-bay slim carrier?
Betting@dynamox has an answer. Somehow I remembered that username from many years ago on the old forums. Helped me answer questions many times before

Hello datactrlyfe,
As long as the part# shows on the disk & OE matrix for your VNX system then you can use it in the enclosure. Here are the links to the different VNX systems.

Thanks for the reply but that doesn't really answer my question. No the part numbers do not match up in the matrix, I've already noticed that. But the part numbers are on the drive carriers, and they are different between the larger carrier that slides into the 15-bay DAE vs the slim one that drops into a 60-bay DAE. The question is, if I have a bunch of 4TB VNX drives in the standard carrier, can I take them out and put them in a slim carrier, and then put them in a 60-bay DAE?

Hello datactrlyfe,
As long as the drive part# shows as supported in the matrix, then you can swap the carriers. It is not recommend that you do it this way, but it will work.
