VNX MirrorView
Has anyone got MirrorView/A (iSCSI) working on the VNX?? We have a client we have sold a VNX5700 to. They have a CX3-40 that want to replace and then make the DR array. Because UniSphere does not support more than one system in the domain today you have to add the connections via the NaviCLI.
We eventually managed to get the connections running after a great deal of trouble. Make sure the SPs and the iSCSI ports are not on the same VLAN.. I know duh.. However we now have connections that are showing one-way connections and we cannot setup any mirrors. The connections from the CLI all show enabled.
Ideas anybody?

Thanks Bruce,
We did the first part. There will be a new KB (emc267885) which came from our efforts. It makes sense but is un-workable to use the CLI every time you want to add a secondary image. Our client does not have the expertise to do this.
I have to ask why this was launched when it wasn't fully ready. And of course no one mentioned the issues with MirrorView or Domains, you had to go to the KB to find out. It wasn't even in the release notes. Sorry just griping.
Is this the only way MV can be accomplished?

Hello Alan,
Knowledgebase article emc262013 describes how to set up iSCSI connections and MirrorView connections between CLARiiON and VNX systems via CLI. From there, you will have to use CLI for operations that you need to specify an object outside of the VNX domain. So, you should be able to create the mirror on the primary system using the UI. Then add the secondary image LUN to the mirror using CLI.

Bruce was correct and it is the only way to do MV on VNX right now.
