RecoverPoint with VMware SRM
In a case I am using RecoverPoint with VMware SRM on the VNX, do I need the Local Protection Suite at the DR site to allow for the use of the “Test” option in SRM?

I've got different answer from RecoverPoint TC, he said:
No, the RP goes into image access mode and does not require snapshots.
I am just wondering where we can find the local protection setup document.

Technically, although it can come in handy when you want to use a different kind of test (other than the one SRM uses), snapview snaps/clones are not used when doing a SRM Test using RecoverPoint. It goes into image access mode.
However, in the world of licensing, things can be different:
read bottom of page 6 on

It depends on the setup you're planning for:
- RecoverPoint/SE or RecoverPoint?
- Are you planning for CRR or CLR?

Thanks Clustor for your information!
From the document,we can choose local or remote protection suites from the VNX array. The local protection suite gives the right to use RecoverPoint/SE CDP, while the remote protection suite gives right to use RecoverPoint/SE CRR. If both the local and remote protection suites are used for the same array, then will gives the right for RecoverPoint/SE CLR.
For SRM Test option, even only for RecoverPoint CRR, the SnapShot is required for testing failove and testing failback.
