Question on VMAXe Datastore Utilization with vSphere 5.0
I spotted a question on the VMware Storage Community, and figured the user might get an answer faster here.
He's running VMware vSphere 5.0 on a VMAXe. All datastores are configured as TDEVs (Thin Devices). The VMAXe reports one of the datastores as 90% full, while vSphere shows it as having 50% space free.
Can anyone offer insight into what might be happening here? You can read the original question here.
Thanks!

would be interesting to see ouput from "symcfg show pool -sid 1234 -pool -in -detail -gb" , specifically Total Tracks, Pool Allocated Tracks and Total Written Tracks for those symdevs.

I believe earlier datastore might have been used while creating virtual machines
and later they might have deleted virtual machine(with virtual disks) or migrated virtual machine with sVMotion.
So from thin device perspective it is 90% allocated and from vSphere client perspective, it 50% used.
