Navisphere agent ESX 4
Hi all,
I am looking for some advice.
I have a customer that has a CX 310 with a few ESX 3.5 U4 hosts. He has the navisphere agent installed in the COS of each ESX host to register the hosts with the SAN.
I have a few questions as i have seen several posts in the vmware forums.
- If i do a fresh install ESX 4 U1 on one of the hosts will i need to install the navisphere agent again or does ESX 4 automatically register the ESX host?
- If not will will cause any issues?
- If i do does anyone have the correct version of Navisphere agent i need to use, and where i could get the instructions to install it?
- Also are there any gotchas i need to look out for (flare version etc)?
Any help would be appreciated
Regards
DC

1.ESX 4 does not use an installable Naviagent,
It is does its own registration
2.You quite often see people looking at double initiators etc as a result of this
3. As above there is no agent for vSphere
4. Im not too sure what you mean here, obviously we would recommend that the array should be running the latest Flare code (Rel 26 P31) for CX3
Hope that helps

Hi guys,
Does the Flare code 03.26.010.5.029 for a CX310 automatically allow for automatic registration?
Thanks
