Emc Recover Point Configuration

Hi

I have to implement Recover point SE for the CDP in my enviroment with the three ESXi 4.1. The setup is like 3 hosts connected to the EMC cx4 having 15k RPM FC drives another DAE of 10K RPM with 8 Drives. Orignally 10k drives were planned to be used for RP to replicate the Production voulmes but due to the over commitment of the disk space we endup using it for production.

Now the due to budget contrains we are forced to buy a SATA Dae with 7200 RPM which would give enough space for the replication. But the EMC implementation is stressing that they need the FC disk only. Which is hard to belive. I seached alot on the disk requirments but could not find any.

Does anyone know about the disk requirments or compatiblity of the recoverpoint with the SATA disk.

They may be confused by the FC notation.  Any drive type in your CX4 array is supported by RecoverPoint.  The FC claim is the RecoverPoint only supports block LUNs attached to your storage network.  Since you are using the CX4 then you can use any type of drive for RecoverPoint --  as long as the LUNs presented into the network are the same size as the production volumes.
