Celerra VAS UBER 3.2 Config question
We have downloaded and gone through the initial configuration of the UBER VSA 3.2 and am having trouble trying to configure CIFS services through Unisphere. If this is not the right place to ask about this issue I'll happily post in another forum if someone could point me in the right direction.
According to the setup guide, one of the first things we need to do is change the password of the administrator account, using 'Change Network Password' from a Windows Client login screen. However, this always fails. Here my setup:
And here's what happens if we try to connect from a client using 'administrator' and the default password:
So, following the guide we are using a 2008R2 server to change the password from a client:
Which always results in the following message:
We've tried various random passwords to get around any complexity requirements. Any other ideas on how to get past this?
Thanks,
Mike H

Just wanted to update anyone who viewed this: we got it working but we're not exactly sure what we did. Here are the changes we made to get it going:
- Switched from using a 2008R2 client to a Windows XP client
- Configured server and client in a separate workgroup (no domain server in this setup)
- Configured XP to use 'classic' login dialog
Lo and behold, it worked. We were able to change the admin account password on the CIFS server and create/mount shares using this account.
Good luck,
Mike
